Who’s Johnny Boskak?

Meet Johnny Boskak. He’s feeling funny. Johnny Boskak is Feeling Funny won a 2015 Standard Bank Gold Ovation Award, and the critics flippen love him. But, there’s more to Johnny than being funny.

Firstly, he’s a white trash dinosaur. “According to the Devil and his Armed Response Angels, Johnny may be a white trash apartheid abomination…who knows?” Johnny explains. But, he’s trying to get the hell out of Secunda with Eve and their V6 Ford Cortina.

Johnny’s put on his cowboy boots and is pretty far from Secunda at the National Arts Festival. It’s not his first time at the rodeo, though. In 2015, after winning a Gold Standard Bank Ovation Award, it made Johnny feel, um, a little more than funny. “It was shweet! Like biting into some really tender Escourt meat.”

This oke doesn’t just smoke and win awards though. He can lay down some killer rhymes. How did he learn how to rap? He didn’t. “Rap learnt it from me – when we were both lighties in the eighties,” Johnny explains.

This “cowboy hero” has three more performances. If you want to find out exactly what a cowboy hero does, you should go see Johnny Boskak is Feeling Funny and maybe share some Klippies and coke, with this oke.

After Grahamstown Johnny hitches some rides to other spots, so keep an eye out…you’ll check him lots.
